My son is right in the stage of wanting to copy everything we say, so this has been really fun. He listens carefully to the word and then tries to repeat it himself. One of my favourite things about Talkaroo is that it's something we can actually do together. We wanted something small enough to take with us when visiting family because our son gets bored pretty quickly. Talkaroo has been really handy. What I like most about Talkaroo is that my daughter doesn't treat it like something she's being made to learn from. She genuinely thinks it's a game. Parent story

★★★★★

"I originally bought Talkaroo because I was looking for something my son could enjoy that wasn't another tablet or screen. I wasn't sure how interested he'd be, but he surprised me. He figured out how to put the cards in himself and now loves choosing which one comes next."

FAQs

Questions From Aussie Parents.

Still unsure? Email hello@talkaroo.com.au.

What age is Talkaroo for?

Talkaroo is designed for little learners from around 18 months through to early primary years. Younger toddlers love posting the cards in and hearing the word; older kids enjoy the letters, numbers and word categories.

How does Talkaroo work?

Your child picks a card, pops it into the slot on top of Talkaroo, and Talkaroo says the word aloud. They can take it out and put it back in to hear it again as many times as they like.

Does Talkaroo really use an Australian voice?

Yes. The words are recorded with a genuine Australian voice, so the pronunciation your child hears sounds like the people around them.

Does it need Wi-Fi?

No. Talkaroo works completely offline — no Wi-Fi, no Bluetooth, no pairing.

Does Talkaroo require an app?

No app, no phone and no tablet. Talkaroo is a standalone device.

Is Talkaroo rechargeable?

Yes. Talkaroo charges with the included USB cable, so there are no disposable batteries to keep replacing.

How many cards are included?

The Starter pack includes 224 cards across 14 categories. The Expanded pack includes 510 cards across 25 categories.

What can children learn?

Everyday words across categories like animals, food, colours, vehicles, emotions, letters, numbers, everyday objects, jobs and nature.

What's the difference between the available packs?

Both packs include the same Talkaroo device and USB cable. The difference is the number of cards and categories — 224 cards / 14 categories in the Starter, 510 cards / 25 categories in the Expanded.

How long does shipping take?

2–5 business days to most metro areas, and 4–8 business days for regional areas.

What happens if we're not happy?

Get in touch at hello@talkaroo.com.au within 30 days of delivery and we'll sort it out.

How does the 30-day guarantee work?

If Talkaroo isn't right for your little learner, let us know within 30 days of delivery and we'll arrange a return for a refund. The device and cards just need to come back to us in resaleable condition.
